Matt and I have been waiting almost a month for this appointment and it finally happened yesterday! I have been feeling so anxious (better than nauseous!) to see Dr. White. During the anticipated wait, I have been fortunate and blessed that I have not experienced any morning, afternoon, or night sickness. So far, no vomitting! Yeah for me but knock on wood! Fatigue has been my biggest battle so far, and it's made it that more difficult to focus on my thesis that is due this coming Thursday. Did I mention that I graduate on Saturday, June 20th at the Staples Center?! Another huge milestone in my life!
I tend to side track, so bare with me! We finally got to our appointment, which ended up starting an hour after our scheduled time- but it was well worth the wait! We absolutely loved our OB! She answered all of our questions and concerns that afternoon. I asked if we would be able to do an ultra sound to hear a heartbeat... and it wasn't planned for that visit. Matt and I felt so bummed, as we wanted the reassurance that there was something, somewhere growing in my tummy. Fortunately for us, Dr. White allowed us to sneak in an ultrasound since the sonogram wasn't picking up the heartbeat.
I can't even express the feelings Matt and I had when we saw a picture of our baby for the first time. I started to tear up and Matt held back... but everything all of a sudden became a reality when we saw the little lima bean and it's heartbeat (A healthy 171!). It was such an amazing moment.
This wasn't my first "official" ultrasound, so we have not finalized how many weeks I am actually pregnant (I think 9 weeks and five days)... more to come after next Monday! In the mean time, here's our little lima bean!! Cute huh?
